Frequently Asked Questions
The Breast Walk Ever is a charity walking event held to raise funds for Against Breast Cancer, who raise funds for vital research into secondary spread breast cancer, the main cause of all breast cancer-related deaths.
There are three distances available (marathon and half marathon) and supporters can choose which one is right for them.
The Breast Walk Ever is open to all everyone! including children. It is suitable for all ages and abilities, and whilst there is no age limit, all participants under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The event is designed to be a challenge, whether you are an experienced walker or are taking on a walking challenge for the first time, you will need to prepare for this event.
The average time for a half marathon walk is between 3 ½ and 6 ½ hours, whilst the average time for the full marathon walk is between 7 and 13 hours. On the day of the event, participants who have not arrived at the 10km checkpoint after 4.45 pm will continue at their own risk and will not be covered by the event’s liability.
There are currently 2 Breast Walk Ever events each year, one in Hampshire and one in Oxfordshire, with participants from all parts of the country welcome to join. There are currently no plans to expand the event to other areas.
At each checkpoint refreshments including hot and cold drinks and snacks are available. Each checkpoint will have toilets and first aid facilities. Checkpoints are marked on the maps. We advise everyone to carry their own lunch, water bottle and personal belongings in a small rucksack. Refills will be available at each checkpoint.
Dogs are more than welcome*, however, owners are required to take full responsibility.
The Breast Walk Ever also reserves the right to not allow you dog if we believe that the Dog is a risk to others safety.
*Except dogs which are banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991
We are encouraging all the participants to raise a minimum of £75 in sponsorship.
When signing up for the event an online fundraising page will be created for you. This is the quickest and easiest way to start your fundraising, once you are registered, simply share you page with friends and family. We will send you some tips on how to do this via email.
